I haven’t been here for a few years, what a disappointment.

I apologize. I am working on getting the tree part up and running again. I’ll let all subscribers know when that happens.

    Howdy –

Any updates on the prodigious family tree project? It’s 2014 – do you know where your ancestors are?

One of the most recent Van Deventers has a school project about immigrants, and is very interested to hear more about Jan Pietersz van Deventer and his amazing offspring.

I am writing to you to add to the Vandeventer family. My grandmother was Grace Janet Vandventer b. 1909 in KY she was the daughter of George Emory Vandventer who was b.1885. He married Bessie Snowden Ryan b.1885. George was the son of Thomas Jefferson Vandventer and Susan A. James. Thomas was born in 1852 in Lee County, VA and Susan was b. 1850 also in Lee County, Va. Thomas was the son of Peter William Vandeventer b. 1809 in Hancock County, TN., and Jane Sloan b. 1820 TN. Peter was the son of Thomas Jefferson Vandeventer b.1779 in loudoun, VA. He was married to Nancy Elkins b.1779 in Hancock, WV. Thomas was the son of Abraham Vandeventer b. 1753 in Readington. NJ. He was married to Mary Jones, who was from England. As you can see the spelling of the Vandeventer name was changed by George Vandventer’s father. I hope this helps, I also have it further back if you need that info too.

    Hi Sarah,

I’m sorry to hear about your phone. Hopefully it turns up. I forwarded some more mail today, not very much mail for you these days, and I have included the rent. Hope things are going great at the new job.

    Respectfully, Kevin B
